The Rose

Inspired by Blood+ and the fact that it was going with three other pieces already made by my roomie and her friends (aka had to be floral or landscape-y).
This is the first painting I've done without drawing outlines in pencil first to guide my painting! I think it turned out alright considering.

P.s. Pictures of paintings look much more true to life in natural sunlight than any artificial sunlight! Now I just wish I had a way to prevent distortion from angles!

Overdue acrylics

Well my roomie's scanner refused to do my two new acrylics. So I took pictures, which turned out REALLY SUCKY. So bare with me and just imagine how much awesomer they look in person okay?

The Mosquito Is Dead

Well this was for Halloween. It was SUPPOSED to be humorous, like how much blood could possibly have come out of one mosquito? But everyone I showed it to just found it disturbing... Forgot to write my signature.

I wanted to do something with stars but didn't have a plan. But then I had a dream about owning a pet raccoon and it was SO CUTE. I can't remember what I named it now. Anyways that's what gave me the idea. This looks even cooler in person because I accidentally bought the luminescent white so the stars and his eyes are all shiny. :D

Acrylics

A couple recent acrylics. This scanner does a horrible job with them, not to bad on Rye (the dog) but destroyed the colors and shading of the demon goat. Anyways, here they are!

This is Rye, a friend's english setter. Balfour loves him, and he loves Mia. Anyways, thank you Claire for letting me steal you picture as a reference!

And my demon goat. I based it's mane and fluff off of Balfour. Crazy I know. Anyways, the scanner cut off the bottom but oh well not that important anyways. I tried to give it pupils but it just looked too normal so I made it a blind demon goat. And no, demon is non synonymous with evil! Actually this started out as a tribute to Lorne from Angel. But it grew away from symbolizing him... Lol! I'll just have to do the dragon line art Bewildermunster sent me. I feel like I need more practice though before I do those details!

Old Stuff

Here it goes! Some of these I love, most of these I only somewhat like... Tis the ordeal of an artist to dislike their own work. ;P

These first two (both watercolor) are directly from references. Hence no copyright signature.

These are mostly from my own references, the backgrounds were all made up because the ones in the pictures sucked though. No references on these because I hadn't decided on what I wanted it to look like yet when I did them.

Lexi the Shiba Inu in watercolor.

Ball Happy: Watercolors

Same dog as the previous watercolor, because I loved this dog.

This one was done mostly from reference with picture owner's permission. Skimo in acrylics!

Next ones completely from imagination, possibly with some reference guides of my own (pictures). Again most don't have my signature because I hadn't decided on one yet.

One of my favorites, not because of technical skill but because of the stripes and the horns/teeth. I love this guy. :D Watercolor!

Watercolor and ink pen.

Acrylics, another favorite for the concept.

A minion from Redwall in ink pen. Textured background in watercolor with alcohol and salt for texture by Jessica/Bewildermunster!

I wish the rock came out better. Had no idea what I was doing with the background for the longest time. Watercolor!

Next two sketches from my imagination, references used very loosely.

A character from a group Bewildermunster and I are playing with. More on them later!

Coyote, only used a reference for tooth structure though with a different species so it's probably off anyways. :P

And last two creative commons references used, but only for the main animal.

A pyrenees like my baby, guarding a flock of sheep. Acrylics. Dang clouds are hard!

Starling done in watercolors and metallic sharpie, the real life version isn't so messy looking the scanner highlighted that.

So there's my old work! Only uploaded the ones I actually like lol. No job yet and blistering hot out so I should have lots of time for art in the next couple days!

A sketch

I have a feeling I will soon be at war with my roommates' printer/scanner. It LOOKS like it should be a good one, but it leaves patches of blurriness and random streaks of light or dark! Maybe it has just been too abused but I get very impatient with scanners whom refuse to portray my art correctly. Anyways, I do have some art to show which is somewhat new, which I will post first.

Obviously the anatomy is way off to be a wolf so use your imagination. Next up will be some old art work that I just want on my art blog.

A beginning

I decided to start this blog just for my art. I'm learning, not all that good yet but getting better. I enjoy painting in different mediums, with the occasional pens graphite etc. My art focuses most on animals, typically canids. Art is a hobby of mine, often thrown to the wayside as life gets busy, so it might be few and far between works. But I'll do my best!
